Frequently Asked Questions
-
For teleradiology, hospitals and clinics will send imagery to a team of radiologists like ours via the internet, so we can rapidly interpret the results and send back a diagnosis within minutes.
This allows us to work across the country with under-served hospitals and smaller clinics who might not have a full-time radiologist to consult.
-
Imaging
Initially, women will go to a healthcare facility in their area and have a mammogram performed with a mammography technologist.
Reading & Interpretation
The technologist takes the images and then sends the images to Tele-gram. We communicate with the technologist via phone, videoconferencing, email or direct messaging to get details about the patient and her concerns and communicate our recommendations.
Client Communications
We dictate a formal report to go the patient’s medical record, and her primary care physician or OBGYN.
If further testing or action needs to be taken, our team will call or video conference the patient to discuss the findings, answer questions and recommend next steps.
-
Tele-gram primarily works with hospitals, clinics and radiology practices, but our favorite part is getting to interact with and talk to patients. We love what we do and want to provide the best care possible for women.
-
As fast as possible. We are licensed in multiple states around the country and continually add more states to our list. We are easily credentialed without red flags on our applications that warrant further evaluation.
-
As little or as much as you’d like. You can send us mammograms and we ran return reports without a lot of communication. We are happy to engage as much as sites like and make adjustments to our level of involvement, so we can provide the best care for patients and meet the needs of our clinics and providers.

We also are proficient in general radiology and enjoy reading bread and butter cases out of general clinics and from emergency rooms.
-
Screening mammograms usually takes 15-20 minutes to complete, so allotting 30 minutes for appointment time is sufficient.
Diagnostic mammograms and ultrasound can take up to an hour to complete all of the imaging needed, leaving time for consultation.
Breast MR takes approximately 1 hour.
-
Tele-gram can meet with hospitals and clinics to help them set up a telemammography program from the ground up, or help their existing telemammo program run more efficiently.
Tele-gram can help with hiring appropriate staff and evaluating equipment when necessary.
